A Brief History
Since its inception in 1998, MLA has spent in the order of $1.8 billion of cattle industry and taxpayer’s funds.
MLA has received about $1.4billion in levies from growers, live exporters and meat processor. It has also received in the order of $400m in taxpayer’s funds from the Federal Government in matching R&D grants.
A little more than half has been spent on Marketing and a little less than half on R&D.
So what have Producers and Taxpayer had in return for their investment in MLA?
